Building in Bushfire areas is not straightforward. Upgraded glazing, seals and screens and additional building elements like bushfire shutters are commonly required for many bushfire prone areas in New South Wales. The RFS (Rural Fire Service) require all buildings in these areas to comply with strict conditions - which are usually quite detailed and contained in your Development Consent.
